   It is clearly up to a dental workers discretion what they deem as ‘clinically necessary.’ But in over 25 years at my practice on a yearly basis I am offered scale and polish at £23.80 as standard. I find it absurd that when everyone has plaque build up that you would not proceed with this. Although advertising they offer NHS services this is not getting carried out in full and you will be pushed to pay more for a standard procedure. As I said 25 years + no issues with this being carried out on all of my family members.
