  1. Review titled Helpful and efficient

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I rang up with extreme tooth ache and pain, the receptionist was great and got me in on the day. I was seen by a very friendly dentist. He did an X ray and it showed I needed a wisdom tooth extracted. They referred me urgently under the NHS, I then got my emergency appointment for the extraction within 10 days. After the complicated extraction, I had severe tooth ache again 5 days later. I rang up the reception, once again this got me in on the same day and saw the same dentist. I was very impressed with how approachable and efficient he was. Once the dental practice has been fully refurbished it seems it will be modern and much better than it used to be. Overall, very impressed.

  2. Review titled Positive Experience

I arrived slightly early for my 11.15am Saturday appointment & whilst I did have to wait a little for my appointment, due to my specific dentist running slightly behind schedule, once my tooth extraction procedure began to its conclusion took approximately 10min (inc injections). The extraction was pain free, efficient procedure performed by a professional & friendly dentist - well worth the wait.

  3. Review titled Great service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Rang at 6.30 Monday evening , 15/4/2024 having just suffered a broken tooth. Spoke to a very pleasant receptionist who offered me an appointment at 9. 25 the next day. Arrived early, asked to wait in the new waiting area.. called by the dental assistant ahead of my appointment time and was escorted to the new dental surgery on the top floor. Greeted by a very pleasant and affable young dentist who examined me, explained my options and offered his professional advice. He then gave me the appropriate treatment and I paid the agreed NHS fee downstairs at the new reception area, leaving the surgery about 5 mins after my allotted surgery appointment time. It was confirmed that I had an appointment booked for 6 months time. Hanover Dental Surgery is in the process of huge renovations and is therefore currently not at its best visually .The improvements being made will no doubt ultimately offer a bright modern surgery with up to date technology and having more dental surgeries, provide treatment for many of the local residents who are finding it hard to access dental treatments.

  4. Review titled Ridiculous wait times and they leave you unseen

Rated 1 star out of 5

by KMcMullen - Posted on 04 March 2024

I attended the dentist on 02/03/2024 after waiting 5 weeks for the appointment for a broken tooth extraction. I arrived 5 minutes before the appointment time and was told they were running behind. I understood as this happens sometimes. However after 2 hours of waiting, I went to speak to reception to find that everyone had left for the day and had the builders not still been in the building I would have been locked in. I completed an online form as there is no email address and have been ignored thus far.

  5. Review titled This Dental practice needs closing down

Rated 1 star out of 5

Absolutely disgusting and filthy oval, bare wires handing from ceiling. Unplastererd walls and ceilings, holes in floors, stair banister loose, open suerage toilet with no toilet just waste pipes, doors hanging off their hinges that were dental rooms, no health and safety regulations adeared to, including fire regulations, no waiting room so people cueing up on two stairways, 11 people I counted, Damp and smelly, I did not get treatment I walked out after 5 minutes because I have seen cleaner facilities at building sites and abandoned buildings.. I have payed my taxes all my life and am disgusted that at this day and age we have reverted to a third world dental care service provided by the NHS.

  6. Review titled Personal Experience

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Simon Nixon - Posted on 28 March 2024

I attended an appointment to have a tooth extracted. My appointment was at 1845hrs but I arrived about 30 minutes early. I booked in with a very pleasant receptionist. I was then asked to take a seat in the waiting room. At 1830, 15 minutes before my alloted appointment the dentists assistant asked to to come into the surgery. The dentist I saw was excellent from the word go, explaining all about the procedure including providing information on aftercare following the treatment. The extraction was completely painless and was completed within 15 minutes. I then arranged another appointment with the receptionist and paid the fees for the procedure. My overall experience was very good, the staff were efficient, professional, pleasant and friendly, and although the interior of the building needs considerably updating which is mostly cosmetic, this is currently being undertaken with a planned refurbishment programme.

  7. Review titled Hygienist visit

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Recently visited for my regular appointment with the hygienist. Surprised to learn that the practise has been taken over and there was construction work taking place. I was seen on time and the treatment was carried out professionally, as always.

Visited the Hygienist as a scheduled appointment as I have done for the last few years. Very professional, easy, relaxed manner and makes me feel comfortable and valued. Spends time explaining the procedure and offers advice regarding brushing, flossing and cleaning. Overall a very positive experience and I can say that my teeth have never been cleaner.

  10. Review titled Avoid

Rated 1 star out of 5

From when I walked through the door felt uneasy as the build looked better on the outside in the dark than inside, inside looked very derelict, holes in floors, dirty, plaster missing on walls just like a building site.. dentist room very outdated, not much care given during exam, the worst part the utensils that had been in my mouth were getting washed as I left in a bowl of dirty cold water with a scrubbing brush i wouldn't do my dishes with... definitely won't be returning...
