From start to finish it was overall a great process, from the initial cal with eds, to attending the dental access service, to meeting the dental practitioner. They(the dentist and assistant) took great care of me and eased my worries, now while I cannot say the procedure was completely painless it was at a bearable level and considering I have an acute fear of dental practices in general, I have to say I am quite pleased and would highly reccomend it to family and friend from out of town and those without access to a local dentist. they were magnificent. 10/10

About 4 weeks ago on a Saturday morning my front crown fell out. I called various "Emergency" dentists. One phone number I was repeatidly told to call was this one for Dental Access Service on Whitegate Drive Blackpool. When I phoned they said they "Did not put teeth back in". They just wanted to know if I had any pain or swelling and to call my own dentist. I said I had not been to my dentist for a long time because I have panic attacks during treatment and I was not sure if I was still a patient. They advised me to contact them to find out. When I did, they said I had been "Deregistered" as I had not been for over 5 years and they were now only taking private patients. I am still trying to find an NHS dentist in Blackpool. I am also looking at private dentists who have dental plans you can pay monthly as it might be my only choice. I am 60 years old, unemployed and can not get dental treatment unless I pay for an appointment. It is a disgrace!

I have tried to contact them for an emergency appointment, I have been on the phone for hours trying to get through, I have made a lot of calls and they have kept me waiting for long periods of time and then they contantly hang up the call. Such a disgusting service by people who have no interesting in helping others, they seriously need investigating.

I have never had to have any major dental work done before. I chipped my tooth a while back and was to anxious to visit the dentist. After leaving my chipped tooth for over a year, it started to cause me problems. I was really anxious about having to see the dentist but the staff from the get go were extremely helpful. The person on the telephone was amazing and found me an appointment straight away. The receptionist was lovely and polite. After a short wait, I was called in by the dental nurse. I explained I was anxious and had never needed any dental work before. They put my mind at ease and assured me that if I needed any dental work doing, I wouldn't feel a thing. The dentist was really calming and explained that they were going to numb the area with a local anesthetic. A slight scratch was all I felt and the anesthetic worked immediately. They examined my tooth and did an x-ray. I opted to have the tooth extracted to have a dental implant inserted at a later date. Throughout the extraction I felt no pain at all. The whole process from start to finish only took about ten minutes. If you are feeling anxious or have a phobia of the dentist, try to use my experience to put your mind at ease. All the staff were brilliant!

Fantastic emergency dental treatment. Empathy and professional. Reception, dental nurse and dentist practitioner are a great team; putting the patient at ease and fully explaining the procedures needed. Spacious reception area and adequate disabled parking.

I was referred to the Bridgwater Dental Access Center because I'm an anxious patient. I've avoided the dentist until I had no choice. I waited for 18 months but once in and seen by the team they went above and beyond to cater to my needs. I was put at ease. They talked me through every process and checked on me throughout. They have me rest times and made me laugh when they could see I was feeling a little anxious. If it wasn't for the team this morning I would not have been able to have this done. Not only did they get me through this procedure but they have helped me manage my phobia of dental practices, I cannot thank the Bridgwater team enough! Thankyou, you really have helped more than you know!
