    After being passed over and made to call 4 separate numbers I finally got through to someone who could help. All I needed was a prescription changed to a vegetarian alternative. Eventually I was put through to a nurse who was incredibly dismissive and rude towards my personal preferences. I had explained that I am a practising Muslim and thus cannot consume a gelatinous based product if there is a perfectly suitable alternative. She proceeded to tell me that I can take it and should because I was being a burden to the nhs for simply requesting an alternative since I had already paid for the prescription. After pressing her she did agree, but her attitude towards my personal beliefs were unacceptable. One would not expect a vegetarian/vegan to be forced to take non-vegan medication if there was a suitable and easy alternative. I understand I should have checked with the GP during the appointment and usually do, however, simple human error should not force a patient into a situation where they are forced to unnecessarily sacrifice their own personal beliefs. I would also like to stress the insane bureaucracy in place. It took me 4 phone calls to be referred to anyone who might be able to help. I was even advised to call 111 for such a small request. Overall, a terrible experience that reflects the inadequacy of the nhs as it stands

    After discussing with 111 on a Sunday morning, I was referred to see a GP and an appointment made for 11am. Check in on arrival (1045) swiftly, I was called by the GP within minutes of sitting in waiting area. Took my prescription to the on site pharmacy who dispensed within five minutes. I was out of there by 1055 am. The areas and facilities were spotless, all staff friendly.
