Review titled This service is not fit for purpose
Rated 1 star out of 5

I'm genuinely sorry to write such a scathing review in such a difficult time for public services. However, I genuinely feel that this service is critically insufficient and fundamentally broken. I had a major depressive episode last year to the point of not being in school. After finally making it though the waiting list I found this service completely unhelpful and as they lacked capacity to see me. I felt misunderstood and patronised by the service. In my experience, this centre is insufficient to the point of redundancy in ther services they provide. Just today I found my sister has also been failed by this service. This week she saved her girlfriend's life after she tried to kill herself. She is facing major surgery. Yet, this service, ostensibly set up to help 'anxiety and depression' found her not to be struggling enough to treat. I am indescribably disappointed in how this service fails to provide the most basic care. Gatekeeping talking therapy and waiting for people to get worse before even providing CBT is completely unacceptable. This service must be looked at by the NHS because it is broken.

some who work here can't even be called empathetic people. in my situation, they didn't even listen to me properly, nor understand what I needed, leading me to refuse their service, and for this fact they created even more problems for me with social services. this is the help they offer;": much more stress than I already had.

After 3 weeks from my initial appointment they elected to call me on my birthday with an update - what a day to call someone about such a sensitive topic. Didn’t pick up as was on holiday and call was from a “no called ID”. No voicemail but sent me an email later that day with an encrypted message that you can’t access from your phone and because I was abroad couldn’t therefore open it as didn’t have my laptop with me. Returned the call on my return to advise them I had been abroad, was told I would get a call back and this was over a week ago.
