I have been seeing a mental health practitioner for 5 months approximately every two weeks. I am learning new skills and tools to help me with my mental health. I am treated with compassion and kindness. I feel heard and we work together to find the right pathway for me to gain self help tools and eventually move away from the service with continued support if required. I put my trust in the person I see to do what they feel is best for me and I am always honest in what I say to give a clear and full picture of exactly how things are for me in my everyday life. I have been able to deal with a lot of past Trauma during my appointments. I still need some help before I am able to test out the skills I am learning and in reducing my anxiety, raising my self esteem and self worth. Everyone in the building is very polite and welcoming. The only criticism I have is that it is difficult to speak to a person and not an answerphone, although, they do ring you back I have to remember it might take some time and when I am anxious and distressed the wait can be difficult. On the whole though at the end of the day I remember these wonderful professionals are human and they may have their own issues going on in their lives but when I am with them their focus is always on me, listening to me and challenging my negative thoughts and helping me with my anxiety and giving me the tools to cope in the future. Thank you for all you do.
