I called my surgery on 18th December to book an appointment with the doctor and was told there were no appointments available until after Christmas not even a telephone appt so in desperation made a telephone appointment for the 21 December am with the practice pharmacist .Today I was expecting a call from the practice pharmacist before 1pm as it was getting close I called to make sure it was still on as usual lengthy period waiting was assured it was and made sure by leaving home number . After 2pm called again another lengthy wait to be told she was behind and was aware of my call . 4.30 another lengthy call to be told she had tried to call me on 2 separate occasions on the number I had left this is not true I have been waiting all day for the call . I am classed as disabled due to copd , prolaxed discs in my spine and arthritis in my hips . The pharmacist changed my medication which did not work I called and was given yet another medication to add . Ever since I have issues and been unable to control the pain hence the reason for my call on the 18th to book the appointment for today . I am in constant pain and have been left no alternative but to raise these concerns in the hope that things may change and to avoid calling 111 in these uncertain times . We have recently had a bereavement in the family and have had to keep the phone clear all day to wait for this call .

I spent a very long time on hold considering I was caller number 3 nearly an hour to talk to someone. No wonder hospitals are crowded
