Excellent doctor, very professional. GP very knowledgeable and take time to explain and examine me. Receptionist could be more customer focused rather than seat there. Would be nice to acknowledge me and offer help.

Review titled Less Efficiency Since the 'Upgrade'
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Barbara Bobrowicz - Posted on 25 September 2024
I queued at Reception desk, as advised by the 'signs', to report for my rsv (should be capitals but review apparently thinks it's a word in all caps, which I'm not allowed to do!) appointment. There were no signs indicating the monitors on the left wall (behind me!). I looked around for any other advice and heard a receptionist advise anyone for Dermatology to go downstairs. That is the only instruction I heard. I was at the back of the queue and the lady was soft-spoken, even close up. When it was finally my turn, she said she couldn't find me on the system and was I registered with that practice (!?). I showed her the text message I had received, confirming the appointment. She then got cross and said 'why didn't you tell me you had an appointment. I said I just did, but the surgery told me in the text! So she said that she asked the queue if anyone had an appointment. She did not, while I was standing there. And, if I had been hard of hearing like my husband, I would not have heard her soft voice. But I did hear the dermatology announcement. And that is all. She then said that it was too late now and she would have to rebook the appointment. So we rebooked for 2pm. Not a problem as I live a couple of minutes away. When I arrived for my 2pm appointment, the nurse commented that I failed to appear for the morning appointment! I said I was right outside but was told to rebook!! One main error here is that there are no signs telling people with appointments to turn round and go to the monitors on the wall behind them. The sign on reception just suggests everyone should report to the desk. It was only because my husband then told me about the monitors that I looked for them when I went back. Now you probably have me on record as a 'no show' when I was there all along!!!

I had a telephone appt with a GP because of some concerning results in a recent blood test. The doctor was reassuring and thorough. Has recommended another blood test and assured me we will speak again when the results are back.

I had the rsv vaccine and have been quite ill with a bad cough ever since. The doctor who gave me the vaccine was very good. I thought it best if I told you about my after effects,

Review titled Good
Rated 4 stars out of 5

Very good gp can recommend they have been extremely good in regards my situation and very supportive for sure the only problem I have is with the social prescriber who was meant to call me back and didn't, ans the surgery didn't seem to know what social prescriber it was so that's a huge problem, and also the nurse came to take ny bloods and they had put another patients name on the paperwork which isn't good so I couldn't get that particular test done, the female receptionists are helpful but there is a guy on reception that is really really bad, he is rude he will say he will do something for you then doesn't do it which is pretty dangerous foe patients that rely on the surgery to do stuff over the phone this has happened every single time I've spoken with him hopefully the surgery will get rid and I know that sounds harsh but he could be endangering people's lives he just isn't interested in the patient whatsoever and it's as quick as he can get you off the phone

Review titled Face to face appointments are key!
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 07 August 2024
I felt compelled to write a review today. I’ve been asked many times but haven’t. Yesterday, I had a consultation with a GP who was attentive and caring, listened carefully, and maintained eye contact while I discussed my problems, without typing frantically. I haven't experienced this level of care in years! Before the appointment I was dreading the thought of speaking to the side of a GP’s face after having waited 2 weeks for an appointment- which has been my experience many times. More doctors should follow this example, and this particular doctor should continue this fantastic practice without feeling pressured to work like her colleagues, typing verbatim whilst patients talk. Whislt sitting in the waiting room there were no more than 3 patients at a time. It did make me wonder how many doctors were carrying out face to face appointments and how many doctors are actually working from home or carrying out telephone consultations. I am a 52 year old woman and have experienced many many consultations. Yesterdays reminded me of consultations I had as a child where doctors really listened, really cared and one where you could build a relationship with and not feel like just a name on a daily list. I hope this level of care continues 🙏🏼
