From the time you enter building you are greeted with warmth and friendly smiles. Nothing is too much trouble to make you feel wanted and calming spirit. I suffer from claustrophobia,so don't like my face covered, No problem was reassured and helped to relax, this made the experience very easy and comfortable.

This was the second cataract operation at Kendal and I have no complaints at all. The staff were polite and the operations were completed in quick time with no problems .

From my first appointment to my surgery, the staff at Spa Medica Kendal were absolutely lovely. Every person I had contact with were just the best, receptionist, the chap that met me at the door, all the folk that do the assessments and all the surgical team are patient, friendly and very supportive. The clinic itself is spotlessly clean throughout too. I’m very much looking forward to returning to have my next eye done.

For my first cataract operation the surgeon was extremely kind and reassuring throughout. After the procedure he checked that I was OK and helped me down from the bed. Unlike the second surgeon who I saw yesterday, who I found to be brusque and heavy handed. When I arrived and was waiting to be called in, patients who had had their operations done and were waiting for transport home were complaining about the surgeon, comparing him unfavourably with the one they had seen previously. This isn't what you want to hear when you are waiting your turn. The 2nd surgeon spoke only to bark orders at me as soon as I lay down on the bed, "move down, open both eyes and look up". His only other comment was, "all done". He was chatting and laughing with the nursing staff during the procedure which didn't exactly fill me with confidence. Once the operation was done, he didn't ask me how I was or tell me how the procedure had gone. As I sat up and staggered down from the bed I said "thank you" to him but this was ignored and in fact his back was turned to me as he was again chatting to the nurses. I am grateful for the speedy cataract operations from Spa Medica and all the other staff have been very kind and friendly. Perhaps the 2nd surgeon would benefit from learning from the 1st surgeon some lessons in patient care. How much difference it makes to a patient to be treated as an individual human being and not the next one on a conveyor belt.

Every member of staff were very friendly and also professional. You couldn't have done any better or anything different , I was in there having my cataracts removed

I would like to thank all the wonderful staff for their time and patience during my treatment. 3 days after my 2nd eye was treated I have got back my mono vision and no longer need glasses. The treatment was painless and achieved a great result.

Everyone helpful and lovely right from walking in at the main entrance. Friendly greeting. All the staff are lovely and make you feel at ease. I went last week for the cataracts assessment which went perfect. Was given an appointment for the procedure for the following week which was great as didn't expect it so fast.

It was a professional and friendly experience from all the staff. The only issue I had was that I am a wheelchair user and the rooms were not set up to enable good wheelchair access. It was all moving chairs, chairs on the designated wheelchair spaces and abuse of disabled parking spaces. There was also some comments made, not in a mean way, but comments that were quite not acceptable. Comments like “your wheelchair is a bit of an issue” and somebody just pushing me out of the way without asking. Maybe a disability awareness course as a reminder might help. Please don’t let these latter comments override the fact that the majority of my experience was excellent.

Not at all like a hospital. Having had prior experience of this clinic last year, I insisted on using this clinic for my 2nd surgery 5/03/2024. Stress free procedure, operation team and surgeon were great. good communication from all the staff.
