I attended the clinic recently with my mother for her first cataract procedure. She is elderly and suffers from dementia, so I was naturally concerned about the procedure but I needn’t have worried. The staff for both the pre-assessment and the surgery itself were very caring and considerate to her needs. The reception and nursing staff were very friendly, we were made to feel relaxed and comfortable. All in all, a very good experience and I look forward to bringing my Mam back shortly for her second operation!

As soon as entering the building I was made to feel comfortable and reassured, the staff were pleasant and informative, I was kept informed every step of my procedure

From the moment I walked into reception I felt welcome. The whole of the premises was spotlessly clean. Full marks to the cleaners who are often not mentioned. Everyone throughout each progressing step gave very clear explanations. Everything was done efficiently. The overall atmosphere was one of kindness, particularly to each other. Well Done.

I've just returned from the Gateshead SpaMedica facility after having cataract surgery and just want to praise all of the staff for making the experience so easy and stress free. From the totally brilliant receptionist, through to all the support nurses and the surgeon, I can't recommend them highly enough. Everyone was thoroughly professional and warm and welcoming and are a credit to SpaMedica. Thank you to you all.

Attended for assessment and noted how clean the place was .Staff were attentive and professional .luckily was able to get an appointment for cataract op a few days later and again exceptional service

I’ve just been diagnosed with cataracts to both eyes and my right eye was getting so bad I was unable to read or drive safely so I hung my car keys up. Within two weeks of the optician referring me I was “fast-tracked” to Spa Medica at Gateshead and was seen by and operated on my right eye by the Cataract medical team. With my “new eye lens” fitted I cannot believe my vision has been restored to what it was since I was young(I’m 65). I was back at work the next day and can read and I’m confidently back driving. Literally, The cataract medical team have given me my life back. One dose not appreciate what you’ve got until you start to lose it, especially our sight. I cannot thank the above staff enough for their medical professionalism, customer/patient service, you were brilliant. Also a big thanks to Spa Medica and the NHS. I look forward to seeing you all for my left eye treatment, whenever that maybe. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you and all your families. I’m eternally grateful.

Cant fault this clinic as they were very helpful.. they made me feel very comfortable and at ease .. nice cups of tea and biscuits.. very clean clinic.. cant wait to come back

I have recently had my cataract surgery at Spa Medica and I must say that the treatment I received was first class. All the staff were very friendly and caring and the operation was completely painless. I could not have wished for a better outcome. Definitely worth top marks. I would definitely want to go back when my other eye requires surgery.
