    Cataract surgery on my left eye. All went extremely well with no problems. Very good service and all completed in under three hours.

    I was impressed by the speed of processing everything from the start to the end. Rearranging appointment to accommodator my needs and in the operation room they did an amazing job

    Whilst it is a bit of a conveyor belt process because you have to be seen by various different people specialising in each aspect, it is nonetheless extremely efficient. Staff are friendly and reassuring and the best part is the speed at which appointments can be scheduled - days not weeks! It was a daunting prospect to have this done but they made me feel very reassured and i can’t fault their procedure and am absolutely delighted now both eyes have been fine and can see better than i have for decades.

    My Father recently had cataract operation on both eyes within weeks of each other and each time the care given was beyond measure especially the friendliness and understanding given to him as he is almost 98yrs old and has dementia. He tolerated the experience very well due to kindness of those working at SpaMedica. A huge thank you from his two daughters who accompanied him.

    A well organised service where most staff at the hospital showed care. Due to circumstances at the hospital for my pre assessment my interview with the nurse took place at the beginning of the session so I did not have the opportunity to ask questions. When home I became concerned about the consultant's reference to Fatty globules in my eye. Contacting Spa Medica to ask about this was not easy. I abandoned my first attempt because I could not be heard My second attempts was very difficult: many conversations I could hear in the background made it difficult to hear the call handler who was speaking to me. Eventually a very helpful optometrist was successful in contacting me and explained very honestly about Drusen's syndrome. The experience of having the procedure was very reassuring and positive although I found the nurse I saw for the first drops rather brusque and unsympathetic towards the difficulties I have with self administering my eye drops. I have bought an autodrop, as recommended which helps with the Pred Poste drops but does not fit the aeon drop bottle. The aeon drops take a long time to drop and the bottle requires a hard pumping action which my arthritic thumbs have difficulty with. My husband has visual difficulties and is unable to help with the drops and there is no family near enough to help. This is a source of anxiety for me.

    I had a cataract removed from one eye in Apri 2024 and the other eye in May - all done in just six weeks. Even though other people will tell you that the operation is quick and painless, there is inevitable apprehension when it is your turn. The Staff here are excellent, from Reception to Surgery, to discharge and follow up arrangements. Everyone I met over the two occasions was professional, efficient, friendly and reassuring and the results are stunning! I hae nothing but praise for all concerned and would recommend anyne needing cataract surgery to SpaMedica (Brighton).
