I had a complex cataract removal procedure. I was very anxious at the thought of the operation but the staff were amazing, and the surgeon was very calm and explained the entire process as it happened which was very reassuring and put me at ease. The staff were very attentive and helpful throughout the entire experience from the initial consultation to the completion of the operation.

From the 1st visit to the operation, i was treated by everyone with the urmost respect and consideration. Immaculately clean everywhere, decent coffee and biscuits. I.was dreading the operations, but really shouldnt have worried. So a big thank you to all.

I have visited this hospital 3 times. Initially for an assement of cataracts, then for surgery to remove cataracts. On each occasion the service was excellent, professional and friendly. I was well looked after on each visit and always felt comfortable. The outcome is oustanding, my vision is now exceptionally good. I can only praise this hospital and the staff who work there. Highly recommended.

I found the reception and medical staff extremely efficient, helpful, and friendly. This was my first cataract operation and I was abit apprehnsive. At all times staff were reassuring. I certainly won't be as anxious when I have my second cataract operation with Spa Medica.

They were attentive, pleasant, kind and professional. The facilities are second to none with cleanliness being at the top. The whole experience was professionally carried out with no fuss.

I am writing on behalf of my mums personal experience of the cataract operation. On both visits the support staff, reception staff, consultation nurses and treatment nurses were amazing. On entering the facility they offered clear information, answered all mums questions and were empathetic and kind. The surgeon who carried out her first procedure was very attentive and discussed the operation prior to surgery and was very patient throughout the procedure. She suffers with arthritis and severe back pain so struggles to lie flat. He was very understanding and allowed her lots of time to get comfortable. As soon as mum walked in for the second procedure there was a totally different atmosphere. The surgeon was very abrupt and had a poor bedside manner, offering no verbal reassurance and showing no empathy towards an elderly patient with severe mobility issues. She commented that the 2nd procedure was over very quickly compared with the first procedure. She also felt that the 2nd post op recovery and consultation process was very rushed. Having sat down with a cup of tea and biscuit in the recovery area, she was ushered into the post op consultation room. She walks with a stick and had to quickly empty her locker and carry her jacket, handbag and drink into the room. The head nurse made no effort to offer help and seemed in a rush to quickly process her and return her to reception. As a final comment mum said that she would have been very reluctant to have the 2nd operation if this would have been her first time experience.

From start to finish the reception was so welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and the support throughout the whole process was exemplary - very nice atmosphere. The clinic itself was totally organized and flowed beautifully. The level of care from nurses was above and beyond. The operation went smoothly with very caring theatre staff putting me at ease.

For my complex cataract removal i received superb care and support from receptionists, nursing staff, clinicians and specialists. I cannot praise all the staff highly enough.
