  1. Review titled Outstanding Staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Julia Drinkhall - Posted on 24 May 2025

Was admitted to day care ward at new urgent and emergency unit at Scarborough Hospital today. Immediately greeted by the nurses, who started to take the several diagnostic tests required. Everyone was so kind and efficient. Offered a cuppa plus breakfast as we had left home early. One of the nurses, (not a flebotonist ) took blood samples with no bother at all - (usually have to travel to hospital as. Nurses can never get blood from me at surgery)! As it was weekend we had to wait a longish time for bloods etc to be assessed, but this was all explained to me at each step. All the staff, especially nurses were welcoming, efficient, and helpful. It was a pleasure really to be ill!

  2. Review titled Absolutely useless

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 March 2024

I visited with two issues, a painful finger, which was lanced, and a pain in my upper back and side which I had suffered for a month or so. I should add that the 111 doctor diagnosed my finger as gout, even with a photo supplied! Without even examining me I was told I had an infection and prescribed antibiotics. After three subsequent visits to A&E I found this was totally incorrect and I have, in fact, a muscle strain. The doctor seemed totally disinterested and was just going through the motions. I won't bother next time.
