We made a self referral and was advised will get a response in 5 days… 2 weeks later a phone call was received on a landline when we would normally be at work and we had left mobile numbers, fortunately we were on annual leave and at home - to find that there is no help for our child (other than this 20min triage chat) and no offer of family counselling to help ensure we are on the right track with us not being experts to ensure we are managing the issue effectively and that no escalation of the issue arises. I am shocked and disappointed at how teenage mental health issues are failing to be addressed - seems we have to rely on the school and for us to look to good old internet for better or worse! We tried GP who would not entertain an appt and they directed us to CAMHS. The service is very broken!!
