   I attended Somerby Surgery on November 19th for my cervical screening. I have had 3 children and gynaecology surgery so I am really relaxed about the process, however I wanted to leave a review as I think if those who are anxious about cervical screening knew how wonderfully I was treated, it might encourage them to attend. The nurse performing the swab met me really cheerily at the door and took me straight through which was reassuring and such a nice gesture. I had brought my wife along to keep me company on the journey and the nurse was so welcoming to us both, made sure we both had chairs and asked at all stages if I wanted her with me etc. She was really engaging, funny and kind and made the pre-exam questions conversational and informative. For the exam, she gave detailed instructions for how I was to lie so there was no awkward 'should I take this off/do this with my knees' type moments and asked me to adjust position so that she could find my cervix without using any awkward euphemisms, her language was really appropriate and professional at all times. Afterwards, she explained all possible outcomes and how and when I would receive the results alongside advice of what to do if I had concerns. I genuinely left feeling it had been a positive, happy appointment and that is unusual for something so personal. I'm not sure if this review is even helpful as I'm probably just describing a correctly performed screening but I just wanted to say I really appreciated it and I'm sure others do also, Thank you.
