  1. Review titled Severely Dysfunctional Since Covid

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by aziz james ahmed - Posted on 18 February 2024

In May 2022 I experienced acute leg pains but only received a phone consultation rather than face-to-face examination and diagnosis. My condition gradually deteriorated during which time I made numerous requests and during which time I visited A & E twice and financed what I could not afford on acupuncture. Finally after 10 weeks I saw a doctor, was examined, referred to the hospital, diagnosed and put on the correct medication. At the age of 73, I can do without 10 weeks of unnecessary pain. Then, In November 2023 I again experienced acute pain again but was told that I would need to wait 6 weeks to see a doctor so decided there and then to switch my GP practice to the Hurley Clinic where I was seen after 2 days, examined, diagnosed, and prescribed appropriate meds. I'm also a subscriber to Pharmacy2U for regular medication but my pills were blocked because Mawbey failed to send my records to the new practice thereby obliging me to obtain an emergency prescription once I'd run out of pills. Pre-covid I used to visit this practice once or twice a year without difficulty and most other organizations have long since resumed normal service but not the Mawbey. If you are seeking a reasonably functioning GP Practice, seek elsewhere.

  2. Review titled Abrasive Receptionists

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I rang and visited Mawbey Brough couple of times and the receptionists each time was abrasive and could barely be bothered to assist me. I need to make an appointment to see a GP about sensitive issues and left without doing so. Additionally Perimenopause/Menopause training and care needs improving at the surgery! It's terrible.
