Review titled Negative Staff Care and Attitude

After attending the Walsall Urgent Treatment Centre recently with raised glucose of almost 28 mmol following being streamed to the service at triage stage in the emergency department as there was minimal ketones. I was advised to go back into the waiting room felt very lightheaded , vertigo upon mobilising and very nausea I made the reception staff aware and the nurse from the service shouted at myself to sit down and I will get seen in due course even with these symptoms I felt like I might pass out and got the opinion they didn't care and they were at the time quite hostile. I felt very unwell and they added to the severe distress anyway regarding the attendance and felt that they didn't have any way based on today's experience of escalation due to determination of condition in waiting room. I then was called into the clinical area by doctor by Urgent Treatment Centre who examined the abdominal area and explained the clinical history of how the whole presentation started as I have been on short acting and long acting almost from diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes and emergency department nurse stated it might be hyperglycaemic hyperosmolar didn't appear to know what they where doing. I was asked why I wasn't one oral antidiabetic medication I explained that some of been tried and without any success and it was decided by consultant and nurse to start Basal bolus insulin as the random glucose readings and hba1c where not the exact text book for type 2. The doctor from Malling Health who runs the urgent treatment centre wasn't concerned or interested he said about the abdominal pain and stated I should be thankful to be in pain that it's the bodies way of warning us something is wrong even though he knew about the recent liver hepatitis and fatty liver disease though wasn't prepared to assess the pain medication. I was put under impression that they could speak with acute medicine or send for diabetes nurse for advice or resend to the emergency department he said thats not appropriate .
