Review titled What do they do
by Anonymous - Posted on 05 April 2024
Although my pain has been with me for sometime, since being referred to LPM its only been phone conversations which I feel was just a tick box exserise and one asking very intermate questions, One face to face who did not introduced himself and did not appear to show any interest when i tried to show medical evidence on my various conditions that could effect the problem. Did not physically check to see the extent of the problem and was out in under 10 minutes. So yes I am still in great pain not heard anything and biggest question is, would I trust them to inject into my spine, probably not

Review titled Disappointing and false hope
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Kirsty S - Posted on 09 August 2023
Started a few months ago, had 2 phone calls.the first to discuss all my health issues and pain, second call being about meds. I Was then advised to call the number and say I want to opt in to receive the help/treatment. Guy who answered had no idea what I meant, I explained that as it was a pain clinic I was hoping to receive help not just talk about my pain and I said what the meds lady had advised. It’s like he didn’t know what the clinic did. Infact- no one acts like they actually do something about pain other than ask what’s wrong. At this point I hadn’t actually had any help, no physio, medication etc.. nothing. Eventually I called again and explained what had happened and got another phone apt. The lady called a few days ago. First question she asked was.. “so why have you come back to us?”. I was shocked. Obviously she hadn’t read notes. I just cried and had to end the call. I have received no actual help with my pain or managing it. On the meds call the lady suggested spinal injections, my gp had discussed the large anaesthetic patches and physio. Yet all I’ve done is talk about what’s happening. I clearly had the wrong idea, they act more like a listening service as opposed to the possible treatments listed because no treatments, help or pain management has ever been offered. Don’t waste your time for false hope if you suffer chronic pain. One big disappointment. I truly feel like it’s just a place they send people so that person feels like something will be done but nothing is. Very sad and angry to be given false hope with absolutely nothing done to physically help me.

Review titled Very disappointing
Rated 1 star out of 5

I struggle daily with widespread chronic pain and when the pain clinic was suggested by my therapist in 2022 and way of getting support in managing my pain. I felt positive with the referral as gave me hope. My 1st appointment was an assessment with a physio who gave me some exercises. I asked about a medication review as that was what GP had referred me for. I was told i could but would be a long wait. I was a bit confused as this had been why i had been referred and was in my original referral. Months later I got a call from the Doctor who made some recommendations to my Gp. The physio then arranged to call me as a catch up on March 13th , however noone called me, i was in all day deliberatelly I I have now recieved a text to saying 'please fill out this questionnaire now your treatment is over'. ???? Thanks for telling me and what treatment??? This experience has caused me further disappointment and low mood as really feel noone actually cares! Don't hold your breath if you are referred to the pain clinic, just wasted my time and causes more distress!
