Review titled Terrible
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 18 April 2024
Arrived at 7.30pm after being referred by 111 to be told there was no appointments left even though it shuts at 10pm. Reception staff rude and unprofessional and asking me why I have come here infront of the whole waiting room. This is the second time I have been turned away when coming a number of hours before this service shuts. They need to put on their website that they are taking no more patients, also let 111 know for them to stop sending patients and making them travel long distances to be turned away, or at the bare minimum put a sign on the front door saying no appointments left. Why have a walk in service if you can’t walk in????

Arrived 2 pm Monday. Room full of patients. I waiting 1 hr 45 mins and only 3 people were seen too. Waiting time information was woefully under-estimated. Decided to leave and seek help elsewhere!

Review titled Poor experience

Attended at 9pm to be told all the appointments were taken and we should have phoned, there were 3 others waiting in the waiting room but was told due to them closing at 10pm we wouldn’t be seen. Was advised to attend A&E for tonsillitis having not being able to get a GP appointment. Staff were rude and had the attitude they didn’t care either way.

Went on Sunday had 2hr wait as was busy. Had to take my daughter to see about infected big toe. Nurse practitioner was really nice helpful and patient as she has autism. Got the antibiotics needed and managed to get prescription done on that day. Really clean as well.

Review titled Excellent Service

I visited the walk-in centre when I couldn’t get appointment at my doctors. Receptionist very friendly, I was seen in an hour and half by a lovely doctor who prescribed me antibiotics for inner ear infection and collected from the chemist same day no problem. I would recommend anyone going if unable to get in at their doctors.

Went at 10am Sunday morning to be faced with a full waiting room, at least 12 people in front of me. Called in at 11.05, dealt with extremely efficiently with empathy and came away with a prescription. We are lucky to have such a good service. Thank you

Review titled Refused to see my 4 year old daughter
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Thomas - Posted on 31 August 2023
Having previously used this service with no issues, I was appalled by my experience this evening. I arrived with my 4 year old daughter who was clearly crying and visibly in distress at 9:30. I was told the nurse would not see her as she finished at 10. There was only one other person in the waiting room who had apparently taken the last appointment. There was no compassion or care shown by the two receptionist who clearly just wanted to go home. I’m obviously aware that everyone has a finishing time but I fail to see how a 5 minute appointment could not of been squeezed in for an ill 4 year old. The suggestion to simply go somewhere else was also not helpful. There was not even an offer to help find me somewhere else to go, they simply said try your doctor or Pontefract. The website clearly states opening times are up until 10pm. No where does it state you might get turned away if we don’t want to see you because we finish bang on 10. If the service finishes at 10 then state on the website that the last entry will be 9:30. At least that way we would know before driving for 25 minutes to get there. As a result of this my daughter was incredibly distressed and we had to drive across to a different service which resulted in her vomiting in the car. This could have all been avoided had the service been clearer and more compassionate.

I was sent to the centre by a Pharmacist due to an insect bite. I was seen quickly, the prescription was sent to a nearby chemist and I received helpful advice.
