   I came today for my mum's 3rd memory appointment at Jocelyn Solly House, following a diagnosis of Alzheimers a few month ago. We met with a nurse who was absolutely incredible. My mum was very anxious about the appointment and the nurse immediately put her (and me) at ease. She spoke to her with kindness, care and empathy and very quickly picked up on and responded to my mum's well developed sense of humour. What could have been a very stressful and difficult appointment, transformed into a really positive and in many respects, a social experience for my mum. She treated her like an intelligent human being and really listened to her. She actually enjoyed the appointment and the interaction with the nurse. By the time it came to the memory test, which is the part of the appointment she was dreading, she was very relaxed and was able to perform to her best ability. The appointment ended with us both feeling extremely positive and optimistic about the immediate future. I can't thank you enough for giving her the time, care, conversation and responses she needed. :-)
