Usually when I am ringing to get a follow up eye appointment which is usually overdue I get told I am on a waiting list and cannot be given a date - so frustrating!. However this time I actually got an appointment at what I believe is referred to as the Glaucoma maintenance clinic. It was very well organised as you went through each diagnostic test. The staff were extremely helpful (which I have to say they usually are). There were no long waiting times between the different tests - which included eye pressure, fields test and a scan. I was able to get some questions I had from my last appointment explained. Altogether a better way.

I arrived to have a simple x-ray between 5.30pm and 6.00pm No other patients were waiting so I received a quick service However I was made to feel as though I was imposing on the service as I was immediately told that I should have attended A&E and not the ICC I had discussed that option with my GP but chose to attend the ICC as I believed I should not add to the pressure at Royal Oldham. All seemed rather dismissive, cold and unfriendly As a retired NHS employee it is of some concern that I was made to feel so uncomfortable
