  1. Review titled Extremely poor work ethic & lack of management

I have been on the orthodontist list for years and treatment started end of October/ start of September 2019. During a visit to the Birmingham dental hospital, we spoke snout my appointments and the importance of attending them and for them to be done every 4-6 weeks. This was put into an email to glebefields orthodontis5 following my visit to them in 09/02/2024. Disite this, my last appointment was 16/02/24 and the soonest they could fit me in would be 24/04/2024 which is -almost 11 weeks. Given that my treatment has been going on for so long, I would expect them to either make exceptions to policy or refer me to another orthodontist who does have time to do their job. I was told I needed my regular dentist to take 2 teeth taking out by my regular dentist, so when I called Glebefields to let them know who my dentist was, their response was it could take 6-8 weeks to send the letter requesting the removal of the teeth, further delaying my treatment. I understand there may be tens of people also waiting for things to be done/sent, however I have made it very clear the braces are starting to make me anxious. the receptionist I spoke with today told me that they are just “too busy” to get it done any sooner. however, of all my treatments I’ve been to, I’ve probably only seen 1 other person so I think they could improve the service by better managing diaries, systems etc. Also, the orthodontist told me they were going in annual leave for 3 weeks. I’m guessing this is why my letter cannot be sent for 6 weeks as there is no cover arrangements. And if there is, they have never offered to book me in with another orthodontist. The staff who work there simply come to do their job and get paid. It’s clear no one wants to go above and beyond to better manage the service and I believe the work ethic needs to be imported.i attended an appointment around a year also where someone on reception was using the office line to speak with their (family/feiend) for a considerable amount of time. She had me stood waiting for 5 minutes before asking the other person to “hang on whilst I deal with this”. I had tried calling that morning also to let them know I may be 5 mins late… I couldn’t get though bevgae sheb we on the phone. To think that is normal is absurd and clearly management are just as corrupt as their employees. There service is appalling
