I had attended a hearing assessment with my 3 week old baby at the children’s centre just up from doctors surgery, I was waiting for my sister to collect me and I needed the toilet. I entered the surgery with my new born baby in arms and asked if I could use the toilet, only to be told by reception staff no couldn’t use the toilet and in and in any case they don’t have changing facilities!! I’m sorry you won’t allow a Mother to use the toilet when they’ve not long gave birth and in this day and age you don’t have baby changing facilities?! Thank you for being so supportive to a mother that is already struggling with emotions after just having a baby and losing my Dad all in the space of 4 weeks!! I wouldn’t recommend this surgery not very friendly or professional!!!!!!

Dear Ali Jeffs, I was very sorry to hear about your recent visit to our clinic at East Way and not being given access to our toilet facilities. Unfortunately, as the security within the clinic is very important, we try to discourage members of the public who are not attending appointments from using these facilities. However, under exceptional circumstances, I feel that you should have been given access, and can only apologise for the distress that this has caused. I would also like to add that baby-changing facilities are available on request at the clinic and this will once again be made clear to all the staff working at East Way Clinic. Kind regards, Colette Kiernander Practice Manager
