Absolutely impossible for working people to access services. You are now unable to book an appointment and must call up at 8am or midday to get a same-day appointment if there are any left. This is not possible for people who work long hours and are unable to keep their phones at their workstations and need a date and time to provide their employers with. Additionally, when attending the surgery, some staff (not all) are shockingly rude and take no care over your records. Often I'm booked in as an elderly lady of the same name unless I ask them to check they have my date of birth correctly. Previously, when asked for a copy of my records for a private investigation (becuase I couldn't book an appointment), they were refused. Recently, after handing in a maternity prescription exemption to reception and not hearing back for 5 months, I chased it up to be told it had "probably been thrown away". The second time around, the form still hadn't been sent so I've had to go round in circles through the midwifery service and NHS business services to sort it myself. Generally, every visit is exceptionally stressful, particularly for a first time pregnant woman so I'm glad I seldom need an appointment. The GP's here are wonderful. It's a shame they are let down by some of their team.
