   I have recently tried several times to book my smear test which has been very hard and only offered appointment times which weren’t good for me to attend such as first thing on a Saturday morning when I have my children or on a school run time. I explained I have a job and said when I have time off and was willing to book in advance however they didn’t have any rotas more than a week in advance. I then gave them a week which I could attend and the receptionist wrote this in my notes for when they have their Rota’s. The surgery then phoned me but because I was at work the appointment was then given to another person by the time I phoned back (Thursday afternoon which are always closed for staff training) and Friday morning I wasn’t able to get through at 8am and unfortuanately couldn’t wait on the phone longer as I had to take my children to school and go to work. I have recently tried to make another appointment for a blood test which was advised by a nurse. Again the receptionist was very unhelpful and I am not able to make an appointment in advance, only ringing between 8am and 10am which is very difficult as I have to go to work. We are always told that if something doesn’t seem right to contact your doctor and how important booking your smear test is but I have found it very difficult to book appointments and make contact with the surgery and when the phone is eventually answered the appointments are taken and need to phone back in the morning. Really disappointed with the surgery. However once you get to see a nurse or a doctor the service is great, just getting an appointment when you have a job and aren’t able to come in exactly when you want is very difficult.

2. Review titled Out of hours service was wonderful

   Went to the out of hours GP on 30th March 2023. Staff were so kind and compassionate. Made such a difference. There is not always a magic cure with medicine but having nice healthcare staff makes all the difference.
