  2. Review titled Brilliant staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was terrified of having anything done to my eyes and was not looking forward to having my cataract removed. From the moment I arrived I was met by a friendly receptionist who made me feel welcome and then I was reassured that it was nothing to worry about by the nursing staff. When the procedure started one of the staff comforted me putting me at my ease and advised me when the procedure was finishing. Everyone without fail were brilliant and I can’t thank them enough for the joy of seeing colours clearly again.

  3. Review titled Poor administration

Rated 2 stars out of 5

my eye appointment on 21st august and follow up telephone diagnosis were excellent. however, the subsequent administration was very poor. The day of the telephone diagnosis was 28th aug. having not received details of my prescription by 5th sept i rang chec. i was told that no record of the prescription was found and i was asked to contact my doctor. i did. The doctor's reception had received no notification of a prescription. the next day i phoned chec again. this time a prescription was found. i was asked to wait an hour and then contact my doctor to check it had arrived. i did. once again no prescription found. on monday 9th i rang chec again and explained that my doctor had not received anything. i was told, quite sharply, that the prescription had been sent on the previous friday but it would be sent again this time as an attachment to an email! on 12th september i checked again with my doctor and the receptionist confirmed the paperwork had arrived. i have found this experience disappointing on three counts. one, that I doubt the prescription would have been activated unless I had contacted chec and two, despite having to wait for 12 days for the prescription to reach my doctor i was never offered an apology for the delay and three, whilst my condition is not life threatening there does pose some risk to my sight and the delay has caused me some anxiety as i was keen to start the treatment. please ensure that your systems become more efficient to prevent this unnecessary stress.
