  1. Review titled no support

Rated 1 star out of 5

Healthier Minds service have never helped me with my mental health. 7 years ago had first counselling and she never listened to me just moaned about having fibromyalgia only had 4 sessions with her then she went on sick. Never let me have any other counsellor. They now refuse to let me do any online courses with them even though my social prescriber sent me details of their chronic pain courses. Mental health services should not be allowed to treat people like this.

  2. Review titled Brilliant service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Since receiving treatment it has really helped me and I've started pushing myself out my comfort zone. For example I'm going shopping on my own, going for coffee on my own. I'm taking each day as it comes and not feeling bad if I have not 'done much' that day. Each morning I say something I am grateful for. Thank you so much for the help I received. I'm understanding myself more. I am still doing the techniques.

  3. Review titled Helped at first…

Rated 1 star out of 5

A few months ago I referred my self with extreme anxiety around my health. I seemed to get seen quite quick after my referral call and my sessions with my allocated therapist was great - she really helped a lot. After a few sessions, I was discharged as I was seen to make improvement, which I was. However, as 2 weeks before todays date 26/07/2023, I was struggling my with anxiety and having suicidal thoughts which were stronger than last time. I called up asking if I could be referred due to this and was told no until 6 months went by as I had to practice the measures that were put in place last time. I asked if this is still the case considering I thought multiple times about taking my life the past week and told me to see my gp or speak to a crisis team as there is nothing else they could do. All in all, the service was great at the start and my therapist really helped. The support after your therapy has finished and if you relapse? Dreadful.

  4. Review titled Didn't get the help needed

Rated 1 star out of 5

After the initial assessment where i was very distressed and struggling to talk, also said i had suicidal thoughts i was only offered low intensity CBT. The information given was read from a sheet which i was sent afterwards. I felt the whole 4 sessions were a tick box exercise to decrease a waiting list. On the final week i said my mood had dropped again and i was having suicidal thoughts again. i was sent a discharge letter stating much improvement and told to ring a charity for counselling. After years of anxiety and depression its the first time i've been brave enough to reach out for help and the NHS help was very disheartening.

Thanks for writing this review. I understand the courage it will have taken you to speak up about your anxiety, and I’m sorry that you did not feel listened to at a time when you needed it most. I am concerned that you are still feeling suicidal, and I want to do everything I can to get you the support you need. We have a mental health crisis team who are available around the clock. Please can you contact us at bfwh.patientrelations@nhs.net / 01253 955588 and provide us with your details so we can get someone from this service to make contact with you. Your GP can also offer you an emergency appointment or support if you don’t want to raise concerns through our services. You do not have to struggle with these difficult feelings alone, and there are trained people who can help you. Even if you’re feeling better now, it’s important that you speak to someone else about this, so that if you start to feel in a crisis again you know who to contact and where to go, so you feel safe and well supported. Please take care of yourself and don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like some further guidance. Kind regards Eleanor
