I received a call out of the blue to book an appointment for skin health. I was working when I received the call, the person on the phone was rude, talked over me constantly, told me she was talking (she talked over me incessantly), gave me one date, one time and would not offer anything else. I have been waiting 14 months for this follow up (apparently I was on a waiting list for this 6 week follow up...!) and she would not look at any other dates. Advice to this practice - train your staff on how to speak to people. We are working as well, so when you phone out of the blue, 14 months after your first appointment, during working hours and offer one appointment time only, and then speak over us, don't expect us to be happy with the service we receive. We cannot just drop everything and be grateful that you have finally called and certainly do not expect to be spoken to like that. Manners don't cost!

  2. Review titled Rude and Unprofessional

Very small waiting area and a lot people had to stand when waiting; and had to shuffle several times whenever a wheelchair user came past. Also very loud music and noises coming from the back. Whilst I was standing in the waiting room to be called for blood test, I noticed one polite nurse. However, she just assumed that the two gentlemen with the same ethnicity sitting next to each other came to the clinic together (she saw one of them and realised he did not speak much English, so she just went to the other one asking him to translate, then he says they did not come to the clinic together). After waiting for 15 minutes another nurse called me, took my paperwork and then told me to go to wherever room & the “chair on the left” to wait for her. I went to the room and saw another patient sitting there having his blood taken so I said “Sorry” and stepped back; I assumed I got the incorrect room. So I continued to wait but on the corridor by the door of this whatever room the nurse told me to go in. When she finally came back, she asked why I was outside of the room. I said there was another patient inside already and I did not want to intrude. She said “No you are not intruding, “we” share these rooms.” Do these nurses just assume that patients don’t mind????? Whilst I was having my blood taken, I realised that the loud music was coming from the room that I was in. To make it worse, the other nurse was singing along very loudly! So rude and so unprofessional! I looked at the other patient and felt really sorry for him having to sit there listening to this horrible noise coming directly at him whilst having his blood taken. No good.

  3. Review titled No drop off for wheelchair users

A bright updated facility but odd culture. Reception behind a glass window. Parking exclusively for staff and no disabled drop off zone. Signs everywhere - staff only, parking controls! A strange place for an MS clinic. Very few patients.

  4. Review titled Poor handling of fellow user

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Whilst waiting for my blood sampling appointment a nurse, conducting Regal Chambers sampling, called two names out, at about 9:20am. A man responded, giving his name; unfortunately it was neither of two names called out, but he sated that he had a letter from the hospital stating that he should attend the clinic. The nurse confirmed that she did not have his name on her list. She made no attempt to resolve the situation i.e. looking at his letter to see if he had the right address, date or time. This conversation, which became stern, was held across the waiting room. A receptionist was at her post throughout but no attempt was made to help the individual, i.e. offering to phone the hospital or advising in another way to prevent a reoccurrence, which the individual said had a happened before. I thought that little empathy was shown to the individual who had had a wasted trip to the clinic. I understand that the original error may have been made by the hospital but the Bedford Clinic is all part of the same organisation and should have taken a small amount of time to resolve the situation or guide the individual to another course of action.
