Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Liz Balderstone - Posted on 03 May 2025
Having suffered with badly infected toes causing me great pain and having been failed by my GP and NHS 111 your brilliant department has sorted my problem. I should never have been using A&E they were my last resort and I can’t thank you enough especially the lovely doctor I saw whose name sadly I didn’t catch. Thank you all. A minor ailment but so grateful for your care.

Review titled Fantastic new A&E department
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Paula-Denise Rimmer - Posted on 12 May 2025
Visited very early hours of the morning on a weekday in extreme pain from what was later determined to be a kidney stone. During booking in I was unable to stand from the pain so my partner gave my details to the receptionist and I was seen within 5 minutes. After an extremely brief discussion about what had happened to result in my attendance, pain medication was administered immediately. The staff were friendly, informative and extremely attentive. They took care of both me and my partner very well and explained what actions they were taking and what we were waiting for in the moments that we had to wait. The new department is clean, efficient and really well laid out. Im so grateful for the care I received that morning, I was there around 5 hours in total which included pain management, diagnosis by way of a CT scan and take home medication being prescribed.

Review titled Kept being forgotten about
Rated 2 stars out of 5

We were in A+E for 9 hours, and kept having to remind staff we were there, what tests the doc had ordered etc. We were in for a severe condition that was deteriorating. The vending machine was broken so no food was available. I understand that the NHS is under a lot of pressure currently and is severely underfunded but this was unacceptable and made my partner's condition significantly worse due to the conditions in the waiting room.
