  1. Review titled A vibrant happy loving home-from-home Care Home environment

My 91 year old friend has been a resident of St Pauls Care Centre for several months now: He is being looked after in an exemplary manner by staff who all clearly 'care' about their residents - which is exactly what an excellent 'care' home should be all about. As an example of this all around care excellence let me tell you about two visits that I made this week to my friend accompanied on one occasion by two Buddhist nuns and on the second occasion by a Buddhist Monk - all from nearby Amaravati Buddhist Monastery in Hertfordshire. On both occasions the staff went more than the proverbial extra mile to accommodate both visits - making sure my friend was ready in his reclining trolley so we could take my friend into the inner courtyard garden to hear the nuns and monk chant some Buddhist blessings. All the staff whom I have met or observed from a distance on the first floor of St Pauls Care Centre - be it the Nurse in Charge on the first floor, Care Practitioners, Senior Health Care Assistants, Health Care Assistants or Care Assistants helping with feeding in the dining areas are themselves very friendly and skillful in their interactions with not just my friend but in there dealing with all the residents that I have witnessed, with lots of laughter, gentle teasing and joking, and the occasional duet traditional dance between a resident and member of staff. The general atmosphere is one of a loving caring home - one in which I would feel more than safe and comfortable about allowing a relative of mind to become a resident: All three monastics who accompanied me this week concurred with this praise for St Pauls Care Centre, and I shall be personally recommending St Pauls Care Centre as a highly functioning centre of excellence when inevitably elderly Nuns and Monks can no longer be cared for at Amaravati Monastery but instead require nursing care intervention as they approach their end of life.
