I am providing a review of my experience of Leighton Forest as my sibling (learning difficulties/autism) and a parent (dementia) have been in Leighton Forest since May 2024. I am particularly impressed by the caring and friendly nature of all the staff. The manager and care team managers foster a culture of continuous improvement, which has been evident over the past 8 months. One of the ways they do this is by having a suggestion box in reception so that anyone can provide anonymous (or not) ideas for improvements, which are then considered and acted upon. Communication is great - the manager holds monthly family get-togethers to update us and to allow us to raise any issues. The meeting is very open and no questions are off-limits. Before coming to Leighton Forest, Mum was having multiple falls at home and was mostly sleeping in a chair. This resulted in wounds that wouldn't heal and other issues. At Leighton Forest she has no wound issues. She is back in a good daily and bedtime routine. A recent outbreak of flu is an excellent example of how well the home responds to situations. A small amount of residents were sadly hospitalised with flu. Within a couple of days of this, all residents had been given flu antivirals, families were advised on health protocols including masks - and the outbreak was quickly contained. I can finally sleep at night knowing my family members are safe and being cared for. Thank you to all at Leighton Forest for your care.
