    My daughter (Uni student 21) had been ill for 8 weeks cold/chest infection. Called 111 and went to an appointment for Byker walk-in clinic received antibiotics. They didn't work by now she'd been ill for 9 weeks. Called 111 again they told her to go to a&e, in fact were going to call an ambulance for her. Being a child of the COVID era she knew a&e was only for real emergencies, she didn't feel her life was at threat so attended the Byker walk in centre. A nurse was incredibly abusive to her. She told her she shouldn't have come she probably was just ill from continual infections (freshers flu) and was wasting her time but as she was here had better check her chest. She also told her the other nurse she saw was probably lying when she checked her chest the previous week and just wanted to get rid of her with antibiotics. I appreciate the dire straits the NHS is in. Tory government have under funded the NHS for years. It's dire. However, this in no way should be taken out on the patients. My daughter is pretty tough but even she felt very wobbly coming out of the walk in centre. Yes, she may just have a continual fresher flu kind of infection but that is no excuse for this nurses attitude. Now she feels a burden to the NHS. What if she had a mental health issue and decided never to 'burden' the NHS with it - with dire consequences. Come on NHS. I know it's dire working in these circumstances but there is absolutely no need to take it out on the patients! What if my daughter was yours???

    My son scratched his eye and needed to attend a&e. I prepared for an evening in the waiting room and was so impressed with the efficiency of the staff. We were in and out within an hour. The staff were all fantastic with my son. They did a through assessment and sent us home with ongoing treatment.

    After being seen by the maxillo facial department at the RVI, I was fortunate enough to receive an operation the following day due to a cancellation. The care that I received from both the staff in the maxillo facial department and the staff in Ward 20 was absolutely fantastic and I can’t thank them enough.

    I have had reason to visit the X-ray department at the Freeman twice in the last month, once for an X-Ray, and once for a CT scan. The service has been exemplary. Friendly but professional, efficient and courteous, my trips have been much shorter than I expected and the results with my GP very quickly. The fact I feel compelled to feedback despite the mental strain associated with waiting for results is testament to how good a service it is. Thank you!

    Cannot underestimated the staff at the RVI. All dedicated from A&E, ward 22 and trauma orthopaedic theatre. The staff are dedicated to ensure patient care. Thankyou all.

    I recently had emergency surgery for a strangulated hernia. The surgical team and all staff involved on C 36 were extremely caring kind professional and showed me dignity and respect. The hospital from what I saw was immaculate well lead and organised. I felt very safe and very well looked after. Thankyou all so much.

    Attended with hand injury. Department busy but seen within reasonable time by a very competent and friendly practitioner. Thorough assessment and sensible management. Reviewed 2 days later, same practitioner, equally excellent service. Thank you

    I have been trying to get treatment for the past 2 days. I called to see if I could make an appointment, as I am unable to wait for up to 5 hours due to heavy bleeding. I was told that there’s nothing they can do as they cannot make appointments. As a tax payer we pay towards NHS services by force, we don’t get a choice. I’d much rather pay towards private healthcare insurance instead of the NHS because at least they take you seriously. When the NHS is ready to see me I would have probably already bled to death at home. When you speak to the NHS it’s like they’re doing you a favour. But we pay them through our taxes

    Your Review: Visited urology investigations clinic To have catheter removed and follow up after op All I can say staff member has a excellent patient skills Removed my catheter with no discomfort and with my dignity listened to me answering all my concerns from my op When not sure sort clarification and gave me the answers I required In addition the whole process of my prostrate cancer journey has been excellent service delivery from start to finish both at Wansbeck then the freeman hospitals Can just say thank you to the whole team
