    My daughter was recently a patient in the day case unit in Hartlepool. She was so nervous in the lead up to going into hospital but the staff in day case couldn’t have looked after her better. The place ran like clockwork and the staff allayed her fears. There was no unnecessary waiting about before her procedure or afterward when she was ready to come home. The staff were professional and kind and she couldn’t have had a more positive experience. All of them are a credit to the NHS.

    I was advised to come to A&E by 111, who said that they’d made an appointment for me to go there. As I was explaining this to the nurse upon arrival, she immediately interrupted me and snapped “No”. The staff who treated me were really nice, but the receptionist/triage nurse treating me with such hostility was just so unnecessary.

    I was admitted via access lounge on 2nd July for right hemicolectomy and from there to theatre where the anaesthetic staff were very reassuring and woke in recovery under care of a lovely gentle nurse. I was transferred to the wonderful care on ward 31 where nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The consultants and doctors were excellent and I was kept informed at all times. Well done everyone

    Visited Urgent Care as my son had experienced a cut on his head - we were in the department for no more than 30 minutes from start to finish. Excellent care & friendly staff.

    I had to go in for treatment on my back. From first arriving at the Access Lounge, to having my treatment, to leaving, all the staff were brilliant. Everything was explained at each stage of my treatment. Tea and biscuits were gratefully received. Thank you.

    After going to Hartlepool maternity unit this morning I left leaving like a new person the midwife’s were amazing especially the one the looked after me she couldn’t do enough and was so reassuring as I was so anxious and talked me through everything I needed to no. Thank you so much for all your help and understanding. Love from Chanel , family and big kiss off baby X

    Found the qualified staff did as little as possible and left the care workers to do all the hard work. Found one of the nurses most unprofessional, having a large bottle of Coca Cola stood on top of the nurses station and kept on drinking from it throughout the day in full view of patients and visitors .

    I appreciate staff are busy, but that is no excuse for rudeness, and arrogance, and unhelpfulness. I was trying to make a booking to see my father after a major op (by the way, the website doesnt say you have to book, but the ward says you do). I phoned every 5 minutes for 3 hours before finally getting an answer and the nurse I spoke to was arrogant, rude and unhelpful. I wish I could give details but they will be deleted. Just be aware.
