  1. Review titled Seamless, quick and effective

Rated 5 stars out of 5

OK, I might have visited at a less busy time, but on my first visit the waiting time was minimal, the second time slightly longer but a perfectly acceptable wait (at dinner time). A seamless, quick and effective process. A thorough and effective consultation with an amazing doctor in the Urgent Treatment Centre.

  2. Review titled Good service shame about the delay

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Teresa Burke - Posted on 09 April 2024

My appointment was 1 hours 25minutes late and I understand that appointment over run. However, why waste the wall space on a board that gives you the rooms being used and a space for delays. Nothing on this to suggest to me my appointment was running late. I was anxious enough without the added problems of not knowing when I would be seen. Just knowing there was a delay would have helped. As I say the staff were friendly and professional. But why did I have to ask about my appointment with the receptionist and nobody coming to me. I was in the end the last person waiting. I understand the rooms have different list but we must appreciate my anxiety when a lady who came in after me with an appointment 25 minutes after mine being seen first. Why could nobody tell me what was going on?

  3. Review titled Absolutely Awful

Rated 1 star out of 5

Having gone to A&E we expected a wait time, but over 8 hours is absolutely ridiculous!!! Then to hear from the nurses that there are only two doctors on site!!! People were in agony in the waiting room. It’s not the staff’s fault, but over 8 hours wait time is beyond the joke

My husband experienced a mild stroke, sent home with out MRI brain scan, now 6 week wait while his symptoms continue, no correct care pathway delivered. Unable to work and left feeling anxious while awaiting diagnostic test.

  5. Review titled Unbelievable First Class Attention

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by R H Scott - Posted on 07 March 2024

I was taken to Chesterfield Royal at 6.30on 6thMarch 2024 and discharged at about midnight and must say that the service and facilities given from the Doctors down to the orderlies was nothing but first class. Watching how hard everyone works where the focus of all was the concern for patients comfort and support. If all prospective patients were to realise it is not the fault of the staff for delays but that of impatient and unreasonable patients who believe that there issue is the most urgent and should keep emmotion in check. The staff work hard every minute they are on duty deserving every pound the NHS pats them(which is totally inadequate) for the hours concerned. I would have no hesitation in recomending Chesterfield Royal A&E to anyone requiring first class treatment and attention with superb facilities. Thank You to all staff

  6. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Very friendly, thorough and efficient staff. I arrived early but didn't have to wait for my appointment time, and individual tests were carried out without delays. The staff just get on with it and slot everybody in wherever possible. Excellent service.

  7. Review titled The rubbish map of the hospital and guid info

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 April 2024

Review of car park map . well i never seen such rubbish . ok if you work there and know you route around the hospital but who in there right mind draw up the map .The info is so vague as i though i would look up the ward i will be visiting for medical reasons .You need a real topographical map with not just a few colored boxes and no route info . .A map with lines showing the corridors and amenities front doors , caff , seating while waiting , distances , walk ways and sweat units. . The roads a jumble with no proper representation and access to all the buildings . who ever drew up this must be less than 5 in years as Ive seen kids draw better maps . .I my self have traveled all over this planet and used many a map but this beats the ticket for being so bad . I my self repair electronics at pcb level . i look at maps every day and have to decode them with some being so complected circuits required many years of training .But looking at this as all i wanted to do was look for a ward just to make it easier for walking in . As i'm not to well and bad on my legs at the moment with hope to gleam some info on the inside of the hospital . ...............Just think you spend millions on the place as well as pay your IT people to look after the net info for public . But my self would sack any company who provided you with this map rubbish .My mum 96 years spent alot of time working at the hospital . Hell mum she on the internet and looked at it , she could hardly make heads or tails .My self also qualified in IT and electronics coms engineer think you got this all wrong and it wants sorting .you charge like hell for the car park ...Then we have this map rubbish . well do i give it to my 11 year old grand son to draw a new one or do you sort it .and by the way if no decent response then this communication will be entered into the local papers...egg derby shire times for one as it's ridiculous ......

  8. Review titled Portland ward outstanding for care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Bingham/whitworth - Posted on 20 March 2024

The nurses, sisters certainly, cleaners, food people, all absolutely fantastic. My mother had been in Portland after a fall going against the sisters advice we took her home and can honestly say was the worse weekend of our lives…. She was thankfully re admitted back into Portland after we realised we was not able to cope with her full needs. How you do that job every day with a smile and so dignified is amazing. Thank you Portland Ward you are all hero’s and this time we will listen to your advice and follow accordingly.

  9. Review titled A Disgrace !

Rated 1 star out of 5

I am a Autistic Adult that previously have had to attend a&e My passport never gets read , they do not make reasonable adjustments and because of this it leaves me so traumatised it puts me in danger I will ever attend again However I did have to attend on the 1st March 2024 to find not only have things not improved but get worse Waiting an hour even though everything was so daunting and overpowering for me and explaining all this to staff no reasonable adjustments were made Finally after been taking into a room and been open and honest as none of the staff had been bothered to read my Autism passport and explaining why I was there the Nurse said sorry I have to go to another department now but I will send another Nurse in to finish of Not only did this make you feel dismissed but I had already told her how I struggled with strangers and been around people but obviously this had not been taken on board as after putting me so much was told she now had to move on Why start an assessment on someone if you do not have the time to see it through ? My Husband and I were left in a sweltering room which causes me panic attacks and had explained 15 mins no one came My husband was looking around the room and the computer had been left on and as he was glancing at it out of boredom a male Nurse comes in and tells him of for looking at it ? I replied if what is on the computer is so private why did the Nurse previous not log it of before she left I do feel this is a massive error on their part and irresponsible and it should be them you give a telling of to which they then had to agree but a disgrace they had not logged it of if my Husband should have looked at it or not they left it on for anyone to see Mt anxiety could not cope any longer and I felt I would go into a Autistic meltdown which I was desperately trying to avoid so I had to go and find a Nurse to ask what was happening as no one had come back They said it would then be a 4 hour wait to see a Doctor which I explained as they were not making any reasonable adjustments was out of my capability They then booked me in to see a Doctor at out of hours care and we were sent there I have never known such un caring , ignorance towards people with Mental Health issues as Chesterfield Hospital The damage they have caused towards me again is a disgrace they should be ashamed and need training on Autism so we can access the same treatment as everyone else feeling as much as possible are needs are been met to help us to do this I know been Autistic how we struggle but the way we are treated can make a big difference in helping us with our struggles but we are not cared about and possibly as the way we are treated leaving us in danger of ignoring our health through fear of how we are treated I am left yet again traumatised and my fear of accessing treatment in danger Thank you Chesterfield Royal Hospital for been so uncaring and ignorant to people that do not fit neatly into your system !

  10. Review titled Not listened to at all

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Adam Sutcliffe - Posted on 19 March 2024

I went to my gp 3 weeks ago with severe testicular pain I was given a letter an told to go straight into the hospital An signed in to Same day surgical s Dec they was really good and really caring took me for a ultrasound scan that it was understood I had a varicose vein issue I was then given pain relief when I returned to my ward I then seen by a doctor who told me about the actions that they can take against it for me and told I was to get a letter for an appointment to see how to go about and discus how it could affect fertility and get a few samples from me … witch I attended today 19/03/2024 1.30 With a doctor I told him my concerns on the pain that has got worse an worse over the last few weeks told him I wanted action taken against it has I’m a sole provider in my home I have 2 children an a partner who I provide for (self employed) 1 . I was never spoken to about fertility at all 2. He didn’t seem interested at all about how much discomfort I was in or how bad a place my life had become because of this issue I had 3. Told me that he doesn’t see any kind of issue with my testicle with doing any scans of any kind (didn’t take any blood either) I understand that the NHS have people in worse situations than me but I wouldn’t be off work not being able to walk far not being able to drive through (meds) I hope that I get some kind of reassurance that I can have action taken on my situation. Really didn’t feel like he cared or listened to my stressful position I apologise if I’m coming across rude But I know somethings wrong with my own body and it’s not being dealt with properly has before when the first time I pay my national insurance an taxes same has everyone else I’m very upset how this is progressing Please help me
