Using mometasone inhalers with other medicines and herbal supplements - Brand name: Asmanex

Cautions with other medicines

Mometasone inhalers can be used with most other medicines. But some medicines may affect your inhaler and increase the chance of having side effects.

Check with a pharmacist or your doctor if you're taking:

  • medicines to treat HIV, such as ritonavir or cobicistat
  • antifungal medicines such as itraconazole
  • other medicines that contain steroids such as eczema creams, steroid tablets, steroid injections, nasal sprays, eye drops or nose drops

Mixing mometasone with herbal remedies and supplements

There's not enough information to say that complementary medicines, herbal remedies and supplements are safe to take with mometasone inhalers. They're not tested in the same way as pharmacy and prescription medicines. They're generally not tested for the effect they have on other medicines.

Important: Medicine safety

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you're taking any other medicines, including herbal remedies, vitamins or supplements.
