Who can take Fybogel

Most adults can take Fybogel, including while pregnant or breastfeeding.

Most children aged 6 years and older can also take it. Do not give Fybogel to a child under 6 years unless your doctor has said it's OK.

Who may not be able to take Fybogel

Fybogel is not suitable for everyone. To make sure it's safe for you, tell your doctor or pharmacist before taking Fybogel if you have:

  • ever had an allergic reaction to Fybogel or any other medicine
  • a bowel obstruction
  • muscle weakness of the bowel (colonic atony)
  • a rare genetic condition called phenylketonuria
