Hortons Pharmacy

Independent Pharmacy.

We offer all the usual NHS Services plus many other pharmacy services (see Departments and services).

We also run a Travel Clinic from the pharmacy.

The Clinic offers the following vaccinations: Rabies, Japanese Encephalitis, Meningitis ACWY Vax, Tick-Bourne Encephalitis, Cholera, Tetanus, Diphtheria, Polio, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Typhoid and a complete list of anti-malarial medication.

We are also a YELLOW FEVER CENTRE.

Shingles Vaccination

Is offered to various age groups between 70 and 80 years of age free of charge by the NHS - but not everyone.
It is a rolling programme and if you have missed out we can offer it as a private service.
So, if you are under 70 or one of those not eligible for a free vaccination please contact us for further information.

Electronic Prescription Service

This pharmacy offers the Electronic Prescription Service, which allows you to choose or “nominate” a pharmacy to get your medicines or appliances from. Your GP then sends your prescription electronically to the place you have nominated, this means:

  • If you collect your repeat prescriptions from your GP you will not have to visit your GP practice to pick up your paper prescription, saving you time.
  • You will have more choice about where to get your medicines from because they can be collected from a pharmacy near to where you live, work or shop.
  • You may not have to wait as long at the pharmacy as your repeat prescriptions could be prepared before you arrive.
