We are Green Cross Chemists. We are owned by a Sheffield Pharmacist and we are the largest independent chain of pharmacies currently based in Sheffield. We provide local pharmacies right in the heart of their local communities.

We stock a range of Healthy Living and Mobility Aids such as walking sticks, feeding cups and incontinence pads and can order larger items for you.

We focus on excellent services which will make your life easier. This includes our popular and FREE prescription collection and delivery service.

We have been directed by NHSE&I to open our pharmacies on Good Friday and Easter Bank Holiday Monday.

URGENT COVID-19 NEWS

COVID-19 ADJUSTMENTS GREENHILL PHARMACY

These are exceptional times!

  • Please go to the far isle to queue and please keep to the marked distancing tapes inside the pharmacy.
  • Maximum FIVE patients in the pharmacy at any one time. PLEASE RESPECT THIS GUIDANCE!
  • This should keep you TWO METRES as recommended for social distancing. THESE ARE MARKED IN BLACK TAPE.
  • If you have a “live” prescription, please be prepared to leave this and come back later unless this URGENT. We are currently about 4 days behind with dispensing, which will also create delays in deliveries.
  • Please order your repeat medications yourselves from your GPs. Please order them about ONE WEEK earlier than usual to allow the GPs time to process them and us time to dispense them.
  • Some medical items are in short supply due to over-ordering. We are advised that, predominantly, apart from some established shortages, the supply chain for medicines can cope if not overly stressed, so there is NO NEED to over-order, which can only create further shortages.
  • When ordering your prescription with your GP, if you are on established repeat medication, PLEASE ask your GPs to provide you with electronic batch repeats, for maybe 3-6months (or more). This will mean that for that longer period, you will only need to contact us to obtain these repeated medicines and need not bother the GPs. In extremis, we maybe able to dispense more than one month's medication to you from these batch repeats.
  • If requested, we will delivery your medicines to your homes. We can also deliver, with your medicines, any shop items you may need. Whilst we are of course respecting self-isolation and shielding, as yet there is NO FUNDING for this delivery service and we provide this service from our own, very limited resources (and this has always been the case for home delivery from pharmacies). At the moment, deliveries are running at around FOUR TIMES “normal” volumes. Delays are inevitable. If you can arrange for your medication to be collected, we would be very grateful.
  • Please, please only telephone the pharmacy if essential. We are experiencing a four-fold increase in calls, which obviously prevents us from dispensing and caring for patients in the pharmacy.
  • Please be patient and be prepared to wait longer than usual in the pharmacy.
  • Please, please be thoughtful, unselfish and kind to us and other healthcare workers: we are on the front-line in this life-threatening situation.
  • Please be kind and considerate to your neighbours, family and friends. Now is the time for communities to pull together and show their worth. 

Our staff are working as hard as they can and are under enormous stress. Consideration is appreciated. ABUSE WILL NOT BE TOLERATEDand abusive patients WILL NOT BE SERVED.

Electronic Prescription Service

This pharmacy offers the Electronic Prescription Service, which allows you to choose or “nominate” a pharmacy to get your medicines or appliances from. Your GP then sends your prescription electronically to the place you have nominated, this means:

  • If you collect your repeat prescriptions from your GP you will not have to visit your GP practice to pick up your paper prescription, saving you time.
  • You will have more choice about where to get your medicines from because they can be collected from a pharmacy near to where you live, work or shop.
  • You may not have to wait as long at the pharmacy as your repeat prescriptions could be prepared before you arrive.
