Overview

This is an independent pharmacy that has been operating under the same ownership for 26 years and we continue to serve the community in the heart of Charlton Kings. We offer all the standard NHS services plus others (see Services) and dispense both Private and NHS prescriptions. We stock a wide range of medicines, complementary medicines, incontinence items and will obtain an item at your request if not stocked. Staff are always on hand to give advice if required.

We medicines manage on behalf of a number of our customers and can order and collect your prescription from any surgery in Cheltenham. We are passionate about keeping people in their own homes and will do weekly dossette boxes to enable this.

We are an accredited Healthy Living Pharmacy.

We are also well known in the area for our range of toiletries and gifts.

Community Pharmacy Patient Questionnaire 2018/19

Every year we undertake an annual patient survey to enable our patients to provide valuable feedback on the services that we provide. The survey, undertaken by all community pharmacies in England, is called the Community Pharmacy Patient Questionnaire. The report of our survey results allows us to identify the areas where we are performing most strongly, the areas for improvement and the actions required to address issues raised by respondents. Our results for 2018/19 are provided here.

New services

We have for many years provided free blood pressure monitoring. Staff are also trained to offer an inhaler technique service, using a machine calibrated to demonstrate the effectiveness of your own particular inhaler technique. This is to ensure patients are getting the most benefit from their inhaler.

Worried that your blood sugars may be higher than desirable? Concerned that you may be developing Type 2 Diabetes? We offer a Diabetes screening service to give your current glucose reading, with any advice required, or referral to your GP. (There may be a charge for this service).

Electronic Prescription Service

This pharmacy offers the Electronic Prescription Service, which allows you to choose or “nominate” a pharmacy to get your medicines or appliances from. Your GP then sends your prescription electronically to the place you have nominated, this means:

  • If you collect your repeat prescriptions from your GP you will not have to visit your GP practice to pick up your paper prescription, saving you time.
  • You will have more choice about where to get your medicines from because they can be collected from a pharmacy near to where you live, work or shop.
  • You may not have to wait as long at the pharmacy as your repeat prescriptions could be prepared before you arrive.
