Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) (Haslemere Hospital)
The service operates 9 am – 5 pm, Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays) and is based at Haslemere Minor Injuries Unit, Church Lane, Haslemere GU27 2BJ.

We see adults and children aged 2 years and over with an acute (less than two weeks) minor injury, including people with cuts, sprains, suspected minor fractures.
Please note: at times of high volumes of people attending MIU, it may not be possible to offer a full consultation to people who arrive from 4 pm as this is one hour before the service closes for the evening. In this instance we will assist you to find an alternative local service according to your need.
At MIU we can treat the following minor injuries:
- Bites / stings
- Cuts / grazes
- Minor burns / scalds
- Minor eye / ear injuries, including removal of foreign bodies from the ears or nose
- Minor head injuries
- Removal of splinters
- Sprains / strains / limb injuries
- Suspected fractures / suspected broken bones
- Neck pain
At MIU we cannot treat (visit your GP or go directly to Accident and Emergency / dial 999 in an emergency):
- Allergic reactions
- Asthma / breathing difficulties
- Earache / ear infections
- Mental health problems
- Pregnancy related problems
- Injuries that require a neck, chest or back x-ray
- Serious injuries
- Severe chest pain – dial 999
- Sore throat
- Stomach pain / vomiting / diarrhoea
This is a nurse led service and if you need to see a medical professional for an ailment or condition that is not due to a minor injury, then please make an appointment to see your GP. The service is not for life threatening injuries and if you require urgent medical attention / assistance then please contact 999 .
