Therapy For You is part of the Department of Health’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) initiative.
We offer access to a range of different talking therapies, including our innovative online psychoeducational courses, face-to-face psychoeducational and group courses and offer access to sessions with Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, Counsellors and Cognitive Behavioural Therapists.
Our services are available to anyone over the age of 18 who lives in South Essex and is not currently receiving secondary mental health care or crisis services. In particular, we can help if you’re experiencing anxiety or stress, depression, bereavement or loss, sleep difficulties, anger issues, obsessive compulsive disorder, phobias and many other everyday problems.
Early Intervention in Psychosis Service
This specialist service works with people aged 14-35 years who are experiencing their first episode of psychosis, no matter what the cause of symptoms, whether it is drug induced or related to a bipolar disorder or a primary psychotic illness. This intensive service is available to people with psychosis and their carers for a maximum of three years.
Speech & Language Therapy
The speech and language therapy service provides a high quality, professional service to people with learning disabilities who may also have communication and/or a difficulty with eating or drinking. This is provided in a variety of ways:
- Differential diagnosis
- Treatment where appropriate
- Training and education for all staff involved with the client group
The speech and language service recognises the importance of good functional communication and eating and drinking skills in the pursuit of independence within everyday life.
At all times, a person-centred approach is adopted, respecting the person’s needs and opinions and promoting their active participation in all aspects of their life.
