Overview

We are a team of trained prescribing nurse practitioners who have a range of essential skill to ensure we can respond to the needs of our patients presenting with Urgent Care needs.

We provide Urgent Medical Care to patients of Kingstanding and surrounding areas for patients with urgent medical needs.

We treat the following ailments:

  • Acute wounds
  • Abdominal pain, indigestion, constipation, vomiting and diarrhoea
  • Breathing problems
  • Burns and scalds
  • Coughs, colds, virus and flu-like symptoms
  • Emergency contraception
  • Hay fever, bites and stings
  • Minor sexual health problems
  • Minor injuries
  • Nose, throat, ear and eye symptoms
  • Referrals to local X-ray department for possible fractures
  • Skin complaints – rashes, sunburn, head lice
  • Strains and sprains and
  • Wound closure for minor lacerations

We are not able to treat the following ailments:

  • Adult and children’s hip injuries
  • Alcohol related problems
  • Allergic reactions
  • Blood pressure checks
  • Blood screening
  • Chest pain
  • Conditions which are likely to need hospital admission
  • Dental problems
  • Ear syringing
  • Major injuries
  • Mental health conditions
  • Methadone prescriptions
  • Overdoses
  • Pregnancy tests
  • Pregnancy problems
  • Removal of sutures not originally done at the urgent care centre
  • Repeat prescriptions
  • Routine dressings
  • Sexual health screening
  • Severe breathing difficulties
  • Severe stomach pain and
  • X-ray services are not on site
