Overview

Ashford Health Centre accommodates a Nurse-Led Walk-in Centre.

THE GP PRACTICE FORMERLY LOCATED AT ASHFORD HEALTH CENTRE IS CLOSED.

On 1st April 2017, the practice list closed. Any remaining patients have been de-registered from Ashford Health Centre.

It is vital that any former patients who have not yet done so, register with a new practice in order to maintain access to a registered GP, continue to be able to book routine and on-the-day appointments and request regular or repeat prescriptions.

The Walk-In-Centre at Ashford Health Centre will remain in place, and from 1st April 2017 it will offer a nurse-led, 8am-8pm service.

Service Update

We would like our registered patients and people thinking of registering with Ashford Health Centre to be aware of the following:

  • The contract to operate the Ashford Health Centre, which started in 2009 and was initially extended, is now due to finish at the end March 2017.
  • The North West Surrey Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and NHS England have decided to disperse the GP practice list, meaning that all patients registered with Ashford Health Centre will now need to find a new GP practice. For more information from the CCG please see: http://www.nwsurreyccg.nhs.uk/news/Pages/Decision-on-the-future-of-Ashford-Health-Centre’s-GP-Service-.aspx
  • As a result of these changes the GP Practice is no longer accepting new patients.
  • The CCG, the local GP Practices and the team at Ashford Health Centre will all be working hard to help patients to re-register with new practices, and make this transition as smooth as possible.
  • The walk-in centre service will continue after next March. The CCG has re-tendered the walk-in centre and the new provider from 1st April 2017 will be Central Surrey Health.
  • We would like to reassure all patients that our dedicated team of doctors, nurses, receptionists and managers will remain committed to the service and to giving high quality patient care until March 2017.
  • If you would like to get in touch with the CCG to raise any questions or concerns you can do so at the following address: AshfordHC@nwsurreyccg.nhs.uk

Service Update January 2017

Statement from North West Surrey CCG-

'The Ashford Health Centre GP service is closing...

From 1 January 2017 the GP service at Ashford Health Centre will be reduced, with only on-the-day appointments being available.

We strongly encourage you to register at a new GP practice now to make sure that you have continued medical care and access to the NHS screening programmes.

If you do not register at a new GP before the Ashford Health Centre closes, you will not longer be registered as a GP practice.

The walk-in-centre will remain. From 1 April 2017, the walk-in-centre will be nurse-led and provided by Central Surrey Health.'
