Overview

talking

Derbyshire County Council are a registered provider of living accommodation for people who require personal care. Everything we do is driven by the needs, ability and aspirations of our clients, as far as is practicable. We are committed to the principle of consultation and full involvement of clients (or their representatives) at all stages. This accommodation is available to clients with older people’s needs including physical and sensory needs.

We provide a range of health and social care support, in partnership with other agencies and a regular programme of social activities, hobbies and leisure interests. This includes the choice and opportunity for people to participate as fully as possible in local community activities.

We support people’s rights in care, including their continued links to the wider community and to have emotional and social needs accepted and respected. We have procedures in place to safeguard clients and, accessible, open procedures for addressing any suggestions or concerns raised by clients or their representatives.

Everyone choosing to live here will have a support plan as a working document to identify:

  • appropriate treatment
  • education and social needs
  • preferred daily routine
  • likes and dislikes
  • dietary requirements
  • interests
  • how you like to be addressed
  • best interest decisions
  • compliance with deprivation of liberty (DoLs)/Mental Capacity Act(MCA)

We provide good training for our staff and work to ensure they have the appropriate skill mix to meet the requirements of those who make their home with us.

You can find out more about how we manage complaints and compliments, pressure care, falls, medicines and dementia care and managing deprivation of liberty/mental capacity act decisions, by opening the Derbyshire County Council – Care Management document attached to this page.
