Smoking cessation clinic

Around 65% of smokers say they want to stop smoking, but most believe they are unable to. However, around half of all smokers eventually manage to give up.

The primary service for people who want to quit smoking is the NHS Stop Smoking Service (NHS SSS). The NHS SSS offer a range of free treatments, advice and support for people who want to quit smoking, and it has a good track record of success. It is estimated that since its launch in 2000, the NHS SSS has saved 70,000 lives.

Travel health with yellow fever - Travel Clinic

Safe pre and post travel advice is available from the Practice Nurse.

For a travel risk health assessment and advice about immunisations and anti-malarials required, please make an appointment at least 6 weeks before you intend to travel to provide full protection.

Most immunisations are available at the surgery.

Payment is required for Meningitis ACWY (including certificate); Hepatitis B and Rabies. Please ask at time of booking for cost and payment method.


The surgery is a designated Yellow Fever Travel Centre.

Please contact the surgery if you require the vaccine. The Yellow Fever vaccine must be given 10 days prior to travel.

Electronic Prescription Service

This GP offers the Electronic Prescription Service, which allows you to choose or "nominate" a pharmacy to get your medicines or appliances from. Your GP then sends your prescription electronically to the place you nominated. this means:

  • If you collect your repeat prescriptions from your GP you will not have to visit your GP practice to pick up your paper prescription, saving time.
  • You will have more choice about where to get your medicines from because they can be collected from a pharmacy near to where you live, work or shop.
  • You may not have to wait as long as your repeat prescriptions could be prepared before you arrive.
