How to make an appointment
You may book an appointment in person or by telephone at either surgery (Acorn /Gaumont House) during Reception Opening hours. Acorn & Gaumont House surgeries are linked and share their appointment and clinical record systems, so there is no need to contact both surgeries when attempting to book an appointment.
Appointments for GPs, Nurses and Health Care Assistants (HCAs) can be made upto one week in advance, either by telephone or at the reception desk at either surgery.
The receptionist may need to ask you a few questions to be able to help you fully and ensure you access the most appropriate service for your needs.
When booking your appointment to see our nurses or HCAs, please inform the receptionist the purpose of your visit, because some appointments may take longer.
Please be aware that if you are more than 10 minutes late
for your appointment you may be asked to rebook.
Urgent Consultation without Appointment
If you are too ill to wait until the next available Routine Appointment, please telephone our reception and ask to be put on telephone advice. The reception staff will check your contact details and add your name to the doctors list.
Telephone consultations have been introduced to resolve problems over the telephone. The doctor will telephone you back as soon as possible to ascertain the problem and manage the condition appropriately.
We do not offer a "walk-in" clinic and we would rather that you telephone the surgery if you feel you are too unwell to wait until the next available routine appointment. As we operate at two linked surgeries, we hope that this will be more convenient for our patients and avoid unneccessary travelling between sites.
