We have a team of 8 GPs who regularly work at the surgery, providing continuity of care to their own individual list of patients. Patients are seen by appointment; those with urgent problems will be seen the same day. We offer an extended hours service for pre-booked appointments from 7.15 am on Thursdays and Fridays
Sometimes advice from your doctor or a nurse over the telephone may be all that you require. The receptionist will advise you of the best time to contact your doctor or nurse.
One of our practice nurses has had specialist training in common ailments and holds a daily Common Ailments (CAN) Clinic; she can prescribe where appropriate.
Our team of 8 Practice Nurses and 2 Health Care Assistants provide a wide range of services, including clinics to help patients manage their chronic diseases (Asthma, Diabetes, Heart disease etc.) Travel Advice, Family Planning, Phlebotomy (taking of blood for testing) and much more.
We are an approved Training Practice and we will often have a registrar GP working with us. Registrars are fully qualified doctors with several years' experience, the equivalent of a Registrar in a hospital, and work under the supervision of a Partner. From time to time we may also have locum doctors working in the practice to cover holidays, sickness and study leave. These doctors are always fully trained General Practitioners.
Please see our website at www.huntingdonroadsurgery.co.uk for more details of the practice and the services we provide.
