Overview

The Woodside Medical Centre formally, Langley Group Practice has been serving the population of Langley for over 50 years.

The change of name came with new purpose built premises in 1997.

The Partnership in the 50's was one of the first to be established in this area. Dr Peck, Thompson, Glover & Libbert all had practices on Langley. They came together to form the Partnership which lasted at least until their retirement.

The stable Partnership and staff service committment has continued for the Woodside Medical centre, although recently we have seen the retirement of Dr Hyman and Dr Maynard. For more information about the practice click on our web address. https://www.woodsidemedicalcentre.co.uk

Repeat Prescription Process- "How can you help" ?

Woodside Medical Centre is looking at our Repeat Prescribing Process. One area for us to focus on is Patient expectation. And also provide you with additional information which may help you. We would like to remind you of the practice ordering process which is as follows:

  • All repeat prescriptions have to follow a process. You must allow 2 working days for you prescription to be processed
  • Repeat Medication will only be issued when it is due for safety reasons
  • Your GP will have set the dosage and a quantity, the next prescription will be issued on the due date
  • Only order medication that is about to run out
  • If you are taking/using medication differently to the dosage on your repeat prescription you must let us know. This will then be passed onto your GP

There are many ways that you can order your Repeat Prescription

  • Register for our on line services (also gives you access to appointments)
  • Email your request to hmrccg.woodsideonline@nhs.net
  • Telephone 0161 6439431- to order each item by name on the answer phone facility
  • Put your request in the designated box in the waiting room

You must allow 2 working days for you prescription to be processed

Do you collect your prescription from the Practice?

Have you thought about signing up for Electronic Prescribing Services? (EPS)your repeat prescription will go electronically to the pharmacy, without you or the pharmacy having to collect the paper prescription

Patient Participation Group

Are you interested in finding out more about The Woodside Medical Centre Patient Participation Group?Would you like to influence the development of local health services? No experience is necessary just a willingness to work together.  A sense of humour would be a great advantage along with a genuine interest to be involved with members of the practice population and local community and an understanding that change can be beneficial.  Ideally we would like a variety of ages, abilities and ethnic backgrounds.  Other individual skills would certainly be appreciated but are not essential We are asking for expressions of interested initially, then to meet informally for an initial exploratory meeting.  No firm commitment is necessary at this stage.  Anyone interested should ask for a form at reception and return the completed form to Tina Bennion Practice Manager. We will then write to everyone who has expressed an interest to inform them of the date of the exploratory meeting. If you think you would like to be part of the Patient Participation Group, however due to other commitments would find it difficult to attend. You could become a “virtual “member of this group. We would communicate with you via email.
