Overview

Welcome to Forrester Street Surgery. We are a new practice combining three Walsall GP practices incorporating The Manor Medical Practice, The Wharf Family Practice and Sai Medical Centre.

Our practice teams have come together to provide excellent patient care for people in Walsall. We are working together to deliver excellent care.

Extra GP appointments available for Walsall patients


Patients registered with a Walsall GP can benefit from the Extended GP Access Service. NHS Walsall Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has worked with local GPs to create four Hubs based at Darlaston Health Centre, Pinfold Health Centre, Broadway Medical Practice and Portland Medical Practice. The Hubs are currently run by a group of local GPs.
Since launching the service in December 2017 and up until May 2018, more than 15,500 patients have accessed the service.

Prescription Ordering Direct Service

The Walsall NHS Prescription Ordering Direct (POD) service is an easy way for you to order your repeat prescription by telephone.

Our NHS POD has dedicated call handlers, trained to take requests for repeat prescriptions.

Walsall surgeries where the POD service is available:

  • Forrester Street Medical Practice
  • Pleck Health Centre
  • Modality Darlaston Practice

The NHS POD will be rolled out to other Walsall surgeries in the coming months.

CONFIDENTIALITY AND INFORMATION SHARING

We ask you for information so that you can receive care and treatment.  This information is recorded on the computer and we are registered under the Data Protection Act.  The practice will ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained at all times by all members of the practice team.  However, for the effective functioning of a multi-disciplinary team it is necessary that medical information about you is shared between members of the team.

You are entitled to free NHS flu jab if you fall under any of the following criteria - if you are unsure please contact the surgery reception desk where a member of our team will be happy to help you.

  • You have a chronic kidney condition
  • You have a chronic liver condition
  • You've had a stroke
  • You have an illness or are taking medicines that lower your natural defences
