This week millions of people across Britain took the weight off, brewed up and ate cake in support of people everywhere who’ve been touched by cancer. Today the Macmillan Coffee Morning turned 25 and our teams from across the Group have been busy channelling their inner Mary Berry and baking up a storm to raise some money for cancer support.
There are now 2.5 million people in the UK living with cancer; by 2030 it will have risen to a massive 4 million people. This means that one in three of us will get cancer, and it will be one of the toughest things we’ll ever have to face. Macmillan’s goal is to make sure no one faces cancer alone. By pitching in and raising money we are doing our bit to help them in their mission to provide medical, emotional, practical and financial support to patients, their family, carers and friends.
Our Derby Urgent Care Centre took part in this event and raised over £150 for this fantastic cause.
